About Us

My name is Samira and I started The Sophiesticated Baby after the birth of my daughter Sophie.

I was so over the traditional baby prints that were out there and wanted to look for more modern options. I was also finding a lot of products we were buying were not as functional as I had liked them to be. I fell in love with making accessories for Sophie (and some for me), and decided to look into potentially selling them!

Perhaps it's because she is my first but I was CRAZY about baby and product safety when it came to her. I sourced out all baby safe parts for anything I was creating for her, looked into how to become compliant to Canadian safety and textile standards and set out to create great quality handmade products. I really do put a ton of love and sometimes mom tears into what I do.

Every product I make is based off of the products I made for Sophie and myself and they have been through a ton of tweaking to try to get them just right! I am constantly trying to strive for improvement so if you have any ideas about anything please let me know!
